These tailored treatments can cater to all skin types and may include deep cleansing, extractions, exfoliation, or more high-tech procedures such as peels and microcurrent. For an added treat, I offer a quick head, neck, and shoulder massage to complement the Classic Facial.

What is a Dermaplane?

Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses an exfoliating blade to skim dead skin cells and hair from your face. It’s also called microplaning or blading.

Dermaplaning aims to make your skin’s surface smooth, youthful, and radiant. This treatment can help to remove deep scarring from acne and uneven pockmarks on your skin over time. It’s also used to remove “peach fuzz,” the short, soft hairs on your face.

Dermaplaning can be used for most skin types and anyone with:

  • Acne scars
  • Dull skin
  • Dry skin
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Fine wrinkles

What to Expect
You don’t need to plan any downtime to recover from a dermaplaning treatment. You may experience redness or feel like your skin is slightly more sensitive in the next 24-48 hours after the procedure.

You may notice that your skin looks brighter immediately after you’re finished with a dermaplaning treatment, but it often takes a few days to appreciate the full results. As any redness subsides, you’ll be able to see the results more clearly in the days afterward.

Results of dermaplaning aren’t permanent.  After three weeks to a month, your results will have faded, as old skin cells build up over time and need to be exfoliated away.

After a dermaplaning treatment, you’ll need to be extra careful about sun exposure. Sun damage could create pigment blotches on your freshly uncovered skin cells. You should always protect your skin with a broad-spectrum SPF and in the weeks following a dermaplaning treatment, your skin is more sensitive to UV exposure.

What is DMK?

DMK’s Methods of Natural Pharmacology provides customized skin and body services to clients who require the highest caliber of professional expertise and client care. When combined with a healthy diet and exercise program, DMK’s Body Treatments can help you get the skin tone and texture you desire.

DMK Mini – A de-glycating wrinkle reducing treatment. Glycation, or cross-linked wrinkling on the skin, occurs when excess sugar molecules cross-link with protein fibers (collagen and elastin), making them sticky and weighing them down. The pillow-like wrinkling typically indicates compromised circulation, a compromised barrier, loss of elasticity and volume, and a disturbed microbiome.  Skin with glycation can also be slow to heal. Using pseudo-heat, this treatment breaks down the sugars.

Enzyme Therapy – Restores skin to its peak condition
DMK is the only company in the world to utilize the beneficial effects of transfer-messenger enzymes.

Enzymes are living substances that regulate health and work with certain minerals in the body to form a natural system of antioxidants that fight corrosive free radicals. Properly formulated, they can remove dead protein, toxins, and other effluvia from the epidermis using a process called ‘reverse osmosis.’
DMK Enzyme Treatments work with the skin. The enzymes aim to strengthen the structural integrity of the skin to create a healthy environment for cells to live and thrive.

Revise and Refresh

Works to oxygenate, detoxify and revise the skin to function as a young, healthy skin does.

Imagine looking down through the top of the skin, think of the inside of the skin like a factory, the product that factory produces is the skin you see on the surface. DMKs signature Enzyme Therapy treatments works to revise the skin to be functioning like a young healthy skin would.

Over 40 years has been spent perfecting DMK’s signature Enzyme Therapy treatments, utilising the beneficial effects of transfer messenger enzymes. It encourages blood circulation, oxygenation and the lymphatic drainage system while simultaneously, through reverse osmosis, helping to flush away toxins and free radicals as well as stimulating collagen production. Formulated to be the basis of all DMK Skin Revision treatments to enhance optimal skin function, Enzyme Therapy works to create long-lasting results.

Experience the difference. When you have a DMK treatment the DMK Skin Revision Technician will discover your main concerns, thoroughly assess the skin from a functional and structural perspective and tailor a bespoke treatment, combining various DMK formulations, followed by our signature Enzyme Therapy Masque. Not your ordinary facial, we make a difference by doing things differently.

What is a Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns and conditions.

The procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.

A different microdermabrasion technique sprays fine particles of aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate with a vacuum/suction to accomplish the same outcome as the abrasive surface.

Microdermabrasion is considered a safe procedure for most skin types and colors. People might choose to get the procedure if they have the following skin concerns:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots
  • Enlarged pores and blackheads
  • Acne and acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Dull-looking skin complexion
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Melasma
  • Sun damage

Preparing for Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a nonsurgical, minimally invasive procedure. There’s very little you need to do to prepare for it.

It a good idea to discuss your skin concerns with a skin care professional to find out if microdermabrasion is the right fit for you. Discuss any past cosmetic procedures and surgeries, as well as allergies and medical conditions.

You may be told to avoid sun exposure, tanning creams, and waxing for about a week before treatment. You may also be advised to stop using exfoliating creams and masks approximately three days prior to treatment.

Remove any makeup and cleanse your face before the procedure begins.

It’s also used in certain anti-aging procedures, such as eyelid surgery and sun spots. Microneedling isn’t effective for hair loss, despite the possible role of collagen in hair growth.

You may be an ideal candidate for this procedure if you’re in good health and have certain skin concerns that haven’t responded to home treatments or other types of dermatologic procedures, such as peels.

This may also be a final step before considering cosmetic surgery for anti-aging and other concerns. Learn more about microneedling and talk to your dermatologist to see if this is the right option for your skin.

Microneedling is most often used on your face to target:

  • Acne scars
  • Age spots (also called “sun spots”)
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
